The full range of original water colours was commissioned to depict actual exhibits of the Qing dynasty (1644 AD - 1911 AD) costumes currently held in various chinese museums. Each costume has been painstakingly translated to watercolour by some of the most talented artists that china can offer who are most meticulous down to the smallest detail.

Each painting measures 405mm high x 435mm wide excluding frame and is completed on oriental rice paper bonded with a 40mm wide jaquard silk border. All paintings are stamped signed and dated by the artists. There is no intention to mass produce prints of any of these ranges and we will be limiting the production of each image to preserve their value.
